All About Mrs. Gerres

My name is Megan Gerres. I am so happy to be part of Chatfield Elementary School. It is an honor to teach here with truly dedicated and professional staff members. My teaching experience is in both Kindergarten and First Grade.

I grew up on my family's dairy farm just south of town. I have amazing parents and 5 very dear siblings. And if you are wondering, yes, I fed the cows, milked the cows, and cleaned up after the cows.

I attended college at Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota and also received my Master's Degree from SMU.

I have a wonderful husband named Jim, and we have a sweet little boy named Emmett. Jim and I both grew up in Belle Plaine and are thrilled to be raising our son in this caring community. (Emmett also wants to share that we have a dog named Dusty. He is a Labradoodle.)

I love spending time with my family. We love to go biking, walking, and running. We try to spend as much time outside as possible, enjoying the fresh air. I also love organizing and preparing my classroom. I do a little bit of scrap-booking and card making when I can find free time, but I don't expect Hallmark to be calling me for my ideas anytime soon.

Working with the children and families in Belle Plaine has been very rewarding. The support and caring nature of the families has truly impacted the learning of the students. Thank you for your continued partnership with Belle Plaine Schools.
