Hello Tigers!

My name is Tony Hartmann,  and I will be teaching 6th grade math and social studies at Oak Crest School this year. This will be my 19th year in education, and my 18th year teaching in the Belle Plaine School District.  I have taught in both 4th and 6th grade classrooms during my time here.  I am also very proud to say I grew up in this town and graduated from Belle Plaine High School back in 1988. I am very happy to be teaching in the town I grew up in.  It is one way I can give back to the community and schools that provided me  with so many great memories and learning experiences over the years.

After high school, I earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1993.  A few years later, I returned to school and earned a second degree in elementary education from Mankato State in 1998.   I would further my education at St. Mary’s University of Winona, where I received a master’s degree in education in 2002.   In addition to teaching, I also have been directing the high school one act play program for the past 13 years.  I am also the driver education coordinator for the Belle Plaine Schools.

I have been living in Le Sueur for the past 18 years with my wife, Shannon, and our five children Madison, Tanner, Taylor, Peyton, and Reganne. We also have a pet cat named Melvin.  I am sure to see many of you around at the various local sporting events, as my children are involved in cross country, volleyball, softball, and hockey at Le Sueur Henderson Schools.  Go Giants!  I mean Tigers!

I am looking forward to a wonderful and rewarding year!  Please feel free to contact me at school anytime.
