My name is Andrea Andert and I am one of the Special Education teachers at Oak Crest. My classroom is located in Resource Room suite in the B Wing. This is my 8th year of teaching at Oak Crest. I graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a license in Developmental Disabilities. In 2014, I received my Master of Arts degree in Education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
I am originally from St. James, MN, which is a little over an hour south of Belle Plaine. I grew up on a hog farm outside of St. James and am #2 of 5 children, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I am married to my husband, Luke, who works in IT as a Systems Administrator. In January of 2016, we welcomed our first child, Blake. We also have a 4 year old schnoodle, Yoda. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on walks with our dog, reading (the Harry Potter series is my favorite!), cooking, and shopping.
I love working with all students, but especially those who many need a bit more help. I love helping kids reach their fullest potential and see their "light bulb" go on when they have learned something new! Feel free to stop in an visit. I can also be reached by phone or email.
