Oak Crest Elementary Principal's Page
Greetings! My name is Ben Tressel and I am honored to be the Principal for 3rd through 6th graders at Oak Crest Elementary School. I could not be more excited to work with the students and staff in Belle Plaine Public Schools. I have been an educator for 22 years in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, and administrator in Eagan, Prior Lake - Savage, and in Minneapolis. I received my bachelor’s degree from Hamline University, my master’s degree from St. Mary’s University, and my educational specialist degree and principal license from St. Thomas University.
I have had a great deal of educational experiences that contribute to my passion for students and learning. My goal is for students to be excited to come to school at Oak Crest each day, to find joy in learning, to build relationships and make memories with staff and students, and to feel a sense of welcome and belonging in a safe environment. I believe in the power of education to make a positive impact on our world and that ALL students can and will learn each day. I believe in educating the whole child in a way that celebrates their individuality and builds on their strengths. I believe in celebrating differences, the inclusion of all students, and a shared responsibility for the development of outstanding human beings. These beliefs will help me lead Oak Crest staff and students in a community of kindness and support that has a high expectation for learning and a focus on continuous improvement.
I look forward to collaborating with students and staff as we contribute to the excellence and tradition of Oak Crest Elementary and Belle Plaine Public Schools together.
